Dragover gate locked last Tuesday
Drove all the way over to Dragover on Tuesday, June 25th and the gate to the campground area was locked at 1130am. On the way in; I met a truck bringing out a couple of porta potties...so perhaps it was a maintenance thing and unlucky timing on my part. The forest service website says the site is op...

Re: Dragover Questions
Thanks for the response Jim. I may look at getting a raft for this purpose then we would be on the water with some mobility.

Dragover Questions

Re: Float Recommendation-Coming down from Branson
Richard and Clif are much better experts than I am. But I have done the Tyler Bend to Gilbert float easily in a day trip from Little Rock if convenience is at the top of your list. Tyler Bend to Gilbert is a bit of a short section but it has easy access and a cheap shuttle if there is enough water. ...

The Saline River at Benton might be good to avoid rapids for your first trip out. Perhaps the outfitter below will shuttle for you....I think he only operates on weekends. http://www.salinerivercanoe.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The Caddo (Narrows to Glenwood) around...

Re: Trailer or Roof Top
For Rigging: I have a 4x8 utility trailer with short sidewalls. Don't have a shop for welding so I bolted two pieces of angle iron with eye-lets across the sidewalls to lay two rec yaks on. After that, I used metal conduit and fittings to make two "T's" that rise from the floor of the trai...

Boat advice please
Would like to find something used that would work as a primary boat on Class II, III such as the Mulberry and Big Piney. Perhaps an older longer style that wouldn't wear me out if I wanted to use it as a secondary boat to float slower streams with family such as the Ouachita or Buffalo. 5'10", ...
