Ben'ville Parks & Rec Town Hall Meeting Wed

Bentonville Parks and Rec will hold a town hall meeting tomorrow at 1101 SW Citizens Circle from 5pm-7pm to discuss future plans. This would be a good time to express opinions about Lake Bella Vista and removal of the dam. We had a cleanup on Little Sugar Creek Saturday upstream from the lake. The gates have been open since the flood event last December 26 and the lake area is considerably smaller than before. In less than a year what once was under water covered with a layer of mud is now a swiftly flowing, gravel-bottomed class I creek. I saw a kingfisher flash by, a pair of green herons, and a beaver dive into the creek as I drifted past. This will all disappear into the muck once again if the dam is rebuilt.
