Hello!

Post by James Canon » Sat Jan 17, 2015 10:29 pm

Hello to all my old paddling friends. I’ve missed you all! I dropped out of the paddling scene a few years ago due to some personal reasons and demons. Sometimes life throws us a few curves, and we have to figure out how to deal. It’s been far too long, and I’m sorry I haven’t kept in touch.

I’m hoping to get back out and doing some paddling with all my old buds, and hopefully make some new ones. I still have a yak, which probably suffers from dry rot. But, I’d like to do some open boating. Hope to take an OC1 class at canoe school, and I’ll probably try to hit some pool sessions to see if I can figure out a roll……anyone willing to teach and old dawg a new trick? More than anything, I look forward to seeing and catching up with old friends. I hope you’re all doing well!

Welcome back, James! Don't know if you remember me, but you were along on some of my very first trips down the Cadron! Hope to see you on some water again soon. I'll be at the pool assuming it's on this week. Although I have also dabbled with the open boat, I'm afraid rolling one has remained elusive to me, so I can't help you there! Trey Moore would be a good guy to hook up with as well as Chris Handley for open boat rolling.

Take care,
Heather (aka Lupe)

Haha! Sorry James! I don't remember you on Richland, but I was insanely nervous that first trip down...so that's my excuse!!!

Glad you're getting back into the sport! Hope we can paddle sometime together again!
And I promise I won't be involved in any theft of your boat where it ends up hanging from
the side of a 200' bluff! 8>)

Hey James,

I'm so glad to see you post again! I looked up an old photo of you and me from the 2005 Surf&Turf , we were sitting on the retaining wall at Porterfield's, laughing like fools. Roger Head had given me a camo chef's hat and matching pot-holder. I was modeling the hat and since I didn't know what to do with the pot-holder, I also modeled it as a nose-warmer  Fun times!
I hope to see you out on the river sometime, we have all missed you!

Best Regards
Jim

Hi Jim, I remember that like it was yesterday. Good times for sure! Look forward to seeing you sometime!

Roger, thanks, but I'm already set. Picked up a well loved Ocoee recently.

Randy, maybe we can inspire each other! Thx
