Hello,
I'm not much of a canoe-er though we do enjoy the odd float trip.
I actually acquired a canoe recently, and am looking to have a kids' birthday party somewhere where we can put her in the water and sort of paddle around. Not looking for somewhere to do a whole float trip, but interested in just letting the kids get out there and sort of splash around.
Does anyone know of anywhere close to Little Rock that this would be a possibility? Obviously want to avoid any fast moving water and things of that nature. Maybe just a small pond? Or creek? Would be great to have tables etc to set up the party part of the party as well.
Thanks so much!
Megan

The perfect option in my opinion would be the Little Maumelle at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. There is a nice, calm large pool with a boat ramp that is also right next to a few picnic tables. The water is surrounded by cypress and hardwoods and there's plenty of room to stretch your paddling muscles. I believe that the park also has a few canoes and kayaks for rent there as well. All you got to do is head out Hwy 10 (Cantrell) till you hit 300, then follow 300 to the park. Take the right at the gate as soon as you go over the bridge and follow the road till the end, and you are there. If you are going on a Saturday or Sunday I'd advise getting there early, as the park fills up fast on nice weekends.
