Mulberry 23rd or 24th anyone?

Post by PropaneGuru » Mon Feb 18, 2013 7:40 pm

New boat, unfamiliar with the Mulberry. Anyone interested in floating with me one day this weekend? :kayak:

hey propaneguru im a new member as well and have already been to a few of the pool sessions and a couple paddle trips with members of the group and have made many paddling friends so far! Ive noticed that people really dont get on here and start talking about weekend paddle trips till later on in the week (thurs or fri) But im sure if the water levels are up people will definately be headed to the mulberry.
Have you checked out the ACC winter weekend event Mar 1-3? I along with some other paddling friends I have made will be joining in on that down at Lake Fort Smith. You should come to that!

I wouldn't fret over no replies yet...the Mulberry needs more rain to bump the level back up for next weekend. Many paddlers don't lock down their paddling plans until it becomes clear what rivers will be at what level, and we won't know that for next weekend until later in the week. We had a little bit of precip today, but we'll be hoping for another good dose it looks like Wed/Thursday and THEN folks will be able to start making weekend plans.

That's not my neck of the woods, although I do enjoy paddling the Mulberry. But I can assure you as the weekend approaches and river levels around the state become more clear that if the Mulberry is running at a good level you'll have plenty of offers! Welcome!
I've heard that into every life a little of it must fall,
but you'll never catch me complaining about too much of that southern rain.

Mulberry should be perfect this weekend as there is already a pretty good base and the forecast looks favorable for more precip in time for the weekend. Temps for Saturday and Sunday this weekend should be in the upper 50's.

I'll bet there will be plenty of people out.

We went this past Sunday and I was really suprised more folks weren't out. The temps were great and the level was around 2.3. Plenty of water for a fun float.

I took a short video of some surfing action. It runs about 9 minutes. Eagle sighting at 6:00 or so. He sat there until folks paddled under him before launching and taking off.
