Archey Fork work

They are doing some work by the Archey bridge in Clinton. It has started running a noticeable amount by the way... Wondering if this was part of the restoration project. Would have been cool to see a spot with a wave "accidentally" be created there by the park in town.

As far as I know, they are still waiting for the permits but maybe they are staging for the work. I have helped on a couple of these projects and both times the structures that were created to direct the flow of the river created surfable waves. In fact I think when this project is finished we will have added a very nice run of about three miles that will go past the city park.

Nope.... clear that it is utility work now.

Both forks here in Clinton are running good.. up from a trickle through the rocks. With what looks like is heading our way right now, we should even get more priming. In other woids... shouldn't take a major rain event for us to get out on it. Should be fairly indicative of the Bayou and piney also. Hope these wx patterns continue.

As far as the Clinton city run, done it a lot... in the past by the park gets wide and shallow pretty quick. Hope this project changes that and gives us a run at lower levels. Gonna go look again at some possible take outs.

Hey all!

We haven't started work on the Archey Fork Project yet. We will hopefully get started on the staging and some of the wood structures this winter, with most of the other work happening after the spring water has subsided a bit. As for play waves, I've been watching time-lapse videos of our other projects under high-water events and they look like they produce some pretty awesome surf waves and play holes. They change a lot throughout the range of water so its pretty cool to see what they are doin' at all different levels. I am also looking forward to getting up there and floating some of the upper reaches of the different Little Red forks after working on this project this fall. I'll try to upload a video of some surf waves made by the structures when I'm back on my work computer. All in all, its going to make a really cool little run through town. Have a good one!
