We have camped at Lost Mines in the past. But they are dealing with a medical emergency right now, and are unable to take reservations. I am not sure as to what my other options are, besides NOC. Does anyone have any sujestions? We are planning a five day trip around Labor Day.
Thanks, Terry DeMoe

Re: Camping by Nantahala?
I've camped for two decades at Turkey Creek in Almond, NC. It's a great campground, with sites along a little creek, clean bathrooms, a game room, etc. and quiet hours so you can get some sleep. But also the folks who own and run it, Mike and Ramelle, are just super people - the kind I like spending my money with. It's about 15 min drive from the river, and you can ride your bike out of the campground and up the road to Tsali trail - one of the top mountain biking destinations in the country. Mention you're from Arkansas and know me and they'll probably squeeze you in if they can on a busy weekend: http://www.turkeycreekcampground.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Have fun out there Terry!
