RockPort Question

What are acceptable levels for Rockport? (Play features for a person whose main concern is keeping the boat right side up)
On the Ozark Creek Information Summary page it lists 4.5, 6.0, 7.0, are these the minimums and maximums for the play feature at the ledge or just down river floating guildlines.

The gauge is currently at 10.08 and I'm headed that way after 5 today to get a visual, I guess I'll know then.

Rockport is currently running over 11,000 CFS. Most likely you will find it washed out. This is not a good time to go if you are concerned about flipping and swimming.

BTW, Flipping and Swimming are always a concern. My boat did not come with a roll feature option so I'm forced to learn how... Still learning.

3600 cfs is what I've seen for daily Summer releases releases over the years that has proved to be the best for me on my down-river trips, and 'shooting The Ledge' at the end. I think that level has also looked like it was makeing for a good time for the playboaters just hanging out at the drop.

Tim - just go to Dierks, AR (Saline River) There's 3 features close together and a nice surf wave above the beach. There is a 2-mile Class II run below the campground. We will be there all weekend. It is a controlled environment like Rockport with no rocks to hit your head on if you flip. And a swim won't send you way down the river - easy to get yourself and boat to shore. I practice self rescue there myself when I get stuck in the third feature
