Friend of ours, Larry Frost, has this Red Hobie Mirage with sail and 2 rod holders for sail. Has been used for ONE HOUR on a lake. They were moving and did not have time to use it and soon, no place to store it.
He is asking $1800 for it which is much less than he paid for it. I have some other friends who have demo-ed one of these Hobie petal craft, and they were able to do 3.3 MPH in stiff winds using just the petal mechanism.
I have not seen the boat, but I think Larry would be a good person to buy from. Think he is firm on the price. Price one out from a local dealer and I think you will see why.
Larry Frost's number if I can read Susan's hand writing is 417-483-4922

Here is his email that he sent me, that I "lost". Actually posted it here and then it got beamed up, and I couldn't find the original to post here.
He has a stock picture in the e-mail that would not print here, maybe reason first try did not go through.

Subject: Hobie Kayak Information
Eric, This is the infromation on the kayak. Sorry I am so late getting everything together on it but between the move to Guthrie and other things with Jane's book and my CD and the normal delay's when you make a move in the RV it is just part of the living on the road. We are now settled in Guthrie, I think, and the kayak has been sucessfully moved to our daughter Julie's house in Centerton.
I would prefer that arrangements to view the craft be made through me. My phone is 417-483-4922 and I will have it with me at all times. I have added new capabilities of expanded text and internet to my phone so I guess I have joined the 21st Century.
Let me know anything else you think would help
Thank you so much for your assistance. Have a happy holiday.

Kayak is ideal for lake fishing. Has a lever controlled rudder and has only been in the water for a total of 1 hour. Was purchased as a saltwater craft and was not deemed citable for that purpose. Is perfect of Ozark lake fishing. Allows fisherman to work into shore areas and work shore line from the water side. Areas not typically accessible by boat or wading. Bungee cords and pole holders allows for carrying up to 4 rods at a time. Access to the inner part of the boat allows one to carry multiple break down fly rods.
Very stable, makes fish easy to land.
One owner. Owner became a sailor and spends little time in the Ozarks.
Price is $1800 firm. Total cost new kayak will all extras is $2,500 +. Has been in storage for the past year +. Have original warranty papers on Mirage drive.
