Hey all you huffin and puffin boat ballers (and all others)--don't you need some water under your butt? It's 65 and beautiful in NWA today and that's better than a practice session in the pool! Who is up for a good paddle this afternoon or tomorrow??
Yep--it'll be the lake or one of the flat rivers but who cares? Better than not being on the water!

Re: Outta Shape Boat Ballers
Go play at the ford. At this level the water is clear and clean and there is a small rapid.
It's not too much to play in but better than flat water.

Re: Outta Shape Boat Ballers
I do not bet on that for staying in shape. Mary and I went out Sunday with Chloe in steady 30MPH winds, gusting to 36-50MPH. It was not smooth water. 5 miles seemed like 7 or 8 when having to do up wind ferries across the main channel of Beaver lake and in coves alligned with the wind. We stayed in the lee of the hills as much as possible, but that was only about 30% of the trip. Was windy enough that Cloe could not stay on top of the kayak deck and had to sit in our laps. She likes wind in her face, but not waves that want to sweep her off. amry made sure Chloe's PFD was on and attached. Mary was glad she had gotten a lower volume, lower profile kayak. She did fine, and we both got the urge to paddle satisfied. Withdrawal affects all boaters of all types and flat water isn't always flat or calm.
