I cannot take credit for the tires...we met these guys on the river, and started chatting on the river bank...and ended up camping with them (a rare occasion for us & them I believe). Of course, my dad and I being avid outdoors men admired their efforts in trying to clean up the river. The river outfitters and canoe rental places on the Buffalo know these guys by name because of their good deeds. They leave the tires at the put-ins and take-outs for the forest service to pick up...they ran into a ranger in a flat bottom boat once and could not get the guy to take some of the tires that were bogging down their canoe..what the heck!? So, it's left up to guys like them to do the dirty work. I think I will try and pick up my fair share next time I'm on the river.
