Whitewater Gear Please! :)

Post by Dragonfly » Sun Mar 28, 2010 2:53 pm

I am in need of a spray skirt (med/large), paddle, and helmet. If you are doing a little gear "spring cleaning" let me know. Thanks! :D

Dragonfly,

Sprayskirts are sized in two ways, the size of the rand, that part that fits a particular boat's cockpit rim, and the size of the tunnel, that part that fits the persons waist or 'midsection'. I hope this is of some help, sometimes the kayak manufacturer lists the specific skirt for the boat and sometimes not. My preferred method is to have the boat along when trying a skirt to see that it fits the boat just right, as well as fitting me just right.

Best Regards
Jim

The skirt is sized at medium keyhole large waist. Laying out it roughly measures 26"x16". The waist measures 32" but I am a 36"-38" and I could slip it on snug. It is a Mountain Surf. You could go to the website for Mountain Surf and type your boat in to get their recommendations.
