Greetings!
Jessica and I have volunteered to provide entertainment on Saturday Evening at this year's Rendezvous (now now, no wisecracks). After a private viewing of the Performance Video The Call of the River earlier this summer we felt this would be a great film to view with all of our friends in the ACC. After speaking with James (this year's Rendezvous head honcho) we decided that Saturday night after the pot luck would be an ideal time to show this fabulous film.
Here is the official description of the film:
"Whitewater’s history has as many twists and turns as the canyons its pioneers explored. Its story is a collage of unexpected influences, from World War II's impact on boat materials to world champions defecting from communist regimes. Curiosity, ingenuity and outright audacity thrived, from building boats in friends’ basements to bribing damkeepers to release water, all in pursuit of the river experience. For the first time ever, The Call of the River, produced by award-winning videographer and former world champion Kent Ford, brings these tales and more together on film.
Featuring vintage canoeing and kayaking footage, in-depth interviews with eclectic pioneers and captivating narrative, this compelling documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at what inspires paddlers to answer the call of the river."

Finally, we will have copies of the film for sale at Rendezvous before and/or after the showing and we hope to have copies at OOO as well. We look forward to seeing you all there and we are excited to share this wonderful film with you!
Sean & Jessica
P.S. - Any way we can make this a separate "sticky" topic? Thanks so much!

Yeah what T said!!

Watched it recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great photos and videos. Our library ordered it as a resource for my kayaking class at OBU. Looks like a movie night with new kayakers may become a regular part of the class! Pass the popcorn please.

I just watched this recently as well and it is freaking awesome. I was very impressed with it as a whole. I'm sure everyone will enjoy trying to "guess the boat" I know I sure did

Smile, summer run-off is coming!!!

I'm sure I am asking in the wrong section but is there going to be other films shown of Arkansas footage from the past year?
I am learning some new software and made a short movie. If there is a showing I would like to share one but I don't know what is the best format to export the movie file. Advice appreciated on that.

I believe that James said they would show videos from folks on Friday and Saturday. I am guessing it is in the pavillion.
