Mt Fork, Ok
Re: Mt Fork, Ok
As of right now, the lake is almost 3 ft. high. After last Spring I think they are a little scared of letting the lake get out of control again. It reached almost 25 ft. above normal and they had to evacuate Beavers Bend State Park. If they had to release any more water through the COE dam (there are two dams on Broken Bow Lake, one operated by the COE, the other by SWPA/generation) it would have wiped out the park, many cabins and some bridges. Also, they try to generate all that they can during the week so as not to generate on the weekends when possible. This is for the trout fisherman and the 7 liveries that operate on that river. Now as to why they usually only generate during the day and not at night...I do not know.

I have paddled it like that - when all the generators are running. It is fun! Go look at the re-reg dam - it's looks pretty cool with that much water coming over it.
Saline River at Dierks should be running all weekend as well if you are looking for park and play or easy downriver trip.
