Last minute notice, just heard from E.J. and b/c of the rain last night Rockport is running and he and the family are spending some time at Rockport today. Should be there in an hour or so.

i guess we got out there a little late today. they must have left before 4. Don told me that they would be up at the store around 2 on tuesday. It would be cool to get a glimpse of a paddling king!

Damn I wish I had seen this earlier..I would've headed down to hang out and paddle.
Oh well, hopefully they will head back through here sooner or later.

Yeah...E.J. and Family will be at the store around 2 or so today, but there's also a canoe club meeting tonight....coincidence? Hmmmmm...

UPDATE 11-25-08: E.J. and Family are back at Rockport again this morning...Having another session!! E.J. said they learned how to blast yesterday...and also said they were very impressed with the play at Rockport. Enough for another session apparently. If you can make it out there, you too can throw down with E.J.

If you were coming into Malvern from Little Rock on I30. You would take the second Malvern exit, then head east on Hwy 270. In between the McDonalds and the Wendys, there is a road called River Creek Dr. There is also a sign there that says Ouachita River Whitewater Park. You will follow this road to the Stihl Chainsaw Distribution building and then take a right, this will take you back under the I30 bridge and in a hop, skip, and jump, the park will be on your left, which is also river left.

If anyone has GPS coords, that may help...Cowper?

You know, when I first read this misleading post by Mr. Mackey...E.J. and family throwing down at rockport...I immediately assumed he meant Elton John. Needless to say, I was inspired at hearing this. The singer/songwriter ( well not so much ), philanthropist....and KAYAKER?!? This is too good to be true..I thought to myself.

Elton John at our very own playspot.

Well folks, imagine my soup-reeze ( surprise for the commoners ) when it was only Eric somebody or another.
I still have tears of unrequited angst.

I have no idea what that could even mean, but it sounds intense.

So for those of you like myself, who expected an Elton John style loop and cartwheel frenzy, well..keep on dreamin.

But then again, sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes...well...the bar eats you.

Hope everyone had a good time at the oyster shindig, as I didn't know until later and was trapped tiling my house. I hate tiling so.
