try this again.. lost a post somewhere?? sorry

Meet 930ish under bridge at hwy 14. Ready to shuttle at 10. We can pile in together what we can and leave as many cars as possible at the bridge. My truck can carry several boats

Buffalo Point has no official take out any more. It was destroyed. For the ones camping there, if you are able and or have help... one can drag/carry boats up the hill.

We will use hwy 14 bridge aka Dillard's ferry, which is only a few miles by the road double back but will be better for day trippers and the gravel bar campers. Buffalo Point is maybe a mile downstream of the bridge. A few minutes at paddling speed.

Will meet under bridge HW 14 Saturday morning 9:30AM ready to run shuttle To where and where?. Where camping Sat night. BUffalo point full up per internet reservation site.

Rush sounds good to me. Will bring some firewood in my canoe trailer and can hold 6 canoes, counting roof racks.

Eric.

Is anyone interested in a group tent site? Let me know and I'll see if I can reserve one.

Eric,
I checked the recreation.gov site and the message in red said " Earliest arrival date for on-line reservations is Sunday March 27, 2011". All sites are still listed as walk-in only and unavailable on line until after that date.

I am hoping that there still might be sites available that the computer does not show as open. Will check at the campground when I get up there Friday morning. If anyone is going today, perhaps they could request 2 or 3 group sites and we could split the costs as other campers came in. The cost per group site was $33.00/10 people + $3.00 per extra person over 10.
The map showed 5 group sites. Do not know how many people plan to attend or where they plan to stay. Do you all usually stay together as a group or camp in different locations.
PS How far is the drag up the hill from the river to the campground at BP? Thanks, Mikki

We are going up today. Just spoke to the Ranger Station @ BP. There are 4 group sites available right now. They are not reserved. They would not let me reserve one. The fee is $30 (minimum) for the first 10 and $3 per each additional person. There is also room in the walk-in tent camping area. There is a limit of 6 people per site in walk-in and 25 per site in group. If the group wishes I will bite the $30 bullet for tonight and get a group site tonight. That way all that wish can camp together Fri. and Sat. Will check back later today while in route to see what the groups wishes are.

Deeply sorry people. My issues are rapidly heading south. As of now I am gonna say I must abandon you. A chance we can come Sat, but don't wait for us.

I can not make this and feel guilty for other responsibilities.. altho I feel so for bailing on you guys :(

I'm in favor of the group site, but I'm only one. If it happens, I'll contribute to tonight's cost.

 Ugh - I'm directionally challenged and since Jan doesn't know if she can make it to Rush or not, I'll be happy to help pay for a campsite at Buffalo Point - It will only be and Critter Killer.... and of course, two dutch ovens.... So Richard, What's for Dinner?

group sites not cleaned, leaves sticks everywhere on campsites. walkin wide open and much much nicer. only 2 tents counting ours. we can add 3 more to our site. those that get here a.m. fri. can claim a site or 2 and that should cover everyone.

I'm in the middle of a family crisis  . . . but plan to be at Hwy 14 bridge @ 9:30 Saturday morning, unless you see my smiling face tomorrow night at Rush or BP campground. I may only be able to day trip a couple of days but since I'm only about an hour away, that won't be a big problem.

I'm in a dark blue Jeep Cherokee with a red LL Remix XP10 on top (can't imagine carrying one under it).

Not going to be able to make this one afterall :hammer: Yesterday I hauled a canoe up from the barn to the garage to clean it up. The phone rang & I turned around and tripped over the canoe.....down goes the Shark.... ouch. so with the back injury earlier in the week, I think I need to just slug around and lift nothing for a few days. Does this count for a boating accident?

Jan I have found 4 Round Mountains in Arkansas.
