The teenaged boys in my class were quite excited about everything they learned and saw, and told their mom they wanted to come back soon. I think they liked kayaking too.

It sounds like your son has had some good experience already, thanks to you. Roger, Cowper, Dave Roberson, and Mike Coogan are some of the paddlers I have known who particularly seem to appeal to kids, and to encourage them at every turn. I hope you will be able to enroll him this year, or later if required. Dave's point about getting him with another adult for instruction is really a good one and will add greatly to what he's already learned.

Glad the minimum age issue was resolved. I've been watching this thread and feeling like Rip Van Winkle. Felt like I woke up and everything had changed!
I was going to be pretty disappointed if the age was upped! Working with younger folks is a real treat!
