I am in LR. This semester I have class M-Th...done at 1pm Thursday so I'll be looking for boating every Thurs evening-Sunday. Send me a pm with what to watch or where to be. I've seen some beta on low volumn creeks rarely run here in Ark after big rains. Gives me a good excuse to buy a new boat so let me know! :)
Should we declare the thread officially threadjacked

To declare it officially hijacked, we need to have a heated discussion about the merits of sponsons.

No no no...to highjack this thread we need to discuss the debit ceiling, super committees, tea bagging activists, and Nancy Pelosi's need for some cosmetic surgery.
I personally was disappointed Boehner didn't cry on the house floor.

With language like that you're going to get this entire thread censored. Dikfer indeed. What about the children on this board. Think of the children!

You don’t know what sponsons are?
Bwaahahahaha! Our evil plan to keep this knowledge from the general public is succeeding!
But since you’ve asked, I’ll share a few tidbits with you. Did you know that:
"“… the American Canoe Association has murdered nearly 2,000 Americans and Canadians, including hundreds of children…”
Pamela Dillon, Executive Director of the American Canoe Association, responsible for the agonizing deaths of nearly 2,000 canoe and kayak victims, just under the 3,000 of Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden in the U.S. and Canada; in "Canoeing", her 2008 book with co-editor Jeremy Oyen, has no means to rescue victims from the water (she has none). Instead, victims are to "huddle" in the water, with other victims or individually in a manner to attempt to reduce body heat loss, until hopefully someone happens by to get them out of the water. Body heat loss in water is 25 times the rate of heat loss in air. They are instructed not to swim to shore unless close enough to be certain to make it. This ensures that they cannot rescue themselves except in the most unlikely favourable circumstances by swimming, and will almost certainly die. If they cannot get out of the water quickly, they will certainly die!
Of course the canoe and kayak safety scam is a very simple experiment, modelling the 911 scam pattern in simple, obvious trickery and showing that the American Canoe Association has murdered nearly 2,000 Americans and Canadians, including hundreds of children, since: "Once you have the Sea Wings fitted and adjusted, its advantages over the paddlefloat become clear."

You guys have waaay too much time on yer hands!! Or yer brains baked during all those 100+degree days? Lack of water to float musta given y'all some kinda mental problems, tho I think most of you were already Certifiable.
Go float yer boat.

Jan - I like your motto. Not up to dancing yet with the knee replacement Rehab, but Mary took me on my 8th trip in the last 4 weeks on Thursday. We did 7 miles in 2 hours of paddleing. Keep telling folks Beaver Lake has plenty of water and to come try out a Sea kayak. Looking forward to canoeing this fall when my rehab should be farther along.

I am not certified in anything, but I'm certainly certifiable.
