Dagger Midevil in Hillcrest (LR)

Post by Tim Eubanks » Sun Mar 28, 2010 2:14 pm

Hillcrest Junk had a red Dagger Midevil outside this morning for $150. Boat looks like it is good shape, not my kind of boat. This store is open at unpredictable times, but always Sunday morning for sure.

Boat is at Hillcrest Junk, on Beechwood across from Kroger, behind the Afterthought. Store is open on Sundays and other days with little predictability. If they didn't sell it Sunday it will most likely be there next week. Don't know if they have a phone in the store.

After some research, I've learned the boat is rather heavy compared to recent playboat designs, but would make a good first boat. Look it up on Eddyflower for specs.

I had one of these boats.

If you want to learn to do stern and bow squirts this is a good learning boat.

If memory correct it was pretty long.

For me it was a very good surfing boat.

I would not call it a play boat of the current defination of play, but in its day this was a good play boat.

Friend of mine TJ Hittle, has a Medieval up in Salida CO and takes it on creeking runs and runs like numbers and browns canyon at both low and high water. Sez it is his go to boat.

If the price is right and the condition is ok, this would be a good start up boat for lots of AR runs.

Boat looked to be in good shape to me, but I'm not accustomed to looking at kayaks as much as canoes. Outfitting looked good, adjustable backband, yakima pegs, etc.
