I say blow the living crap out of something!!!!! If i come ill bring the big "boys" of boom. Last time i brought them out i had the FBI in my drive saying "boy your going to JAIL" So no more booms at my house. The local sheriff was here also. He said "ive been looking for your for three years. I told him ive been right here the whole time. He called me a "smart a$$" !! He also told me that after 911 they dont take it to easy when folks make homemade "BOOOOOOOOOOOMS"    :sinister: :sinister: :sinister: :sinister:

Up to the host!

It is a huge risk that the host takes on and sometimes it is best to just chill and enjoy other entertainment options!

I've had parties with and without blowlog explosives. Things can get out of hand very quickly and it is hard to control sometimes....

Out of hand was last year's NW Chapter party... Sheriff showed up and neighbors thought it was WW3. That's not a sustainable event.

It's completely up to Tom and his family, since they are the gracious hosts for the event. A blowlog by itself is pretty spectacular. Maybe limiting things to a hairspray can or two could work? Those provide a nice show without the decibels or log-shrapnel of propane. Also, limiting it to one or a small number of them makes it more of an anticipated thing I think, and it certainly keeps the neighbors happier.

Again, it's Tom's place, and he ain't trying to kill anyone's fun by establishing some rules regarding explosions. Every landowner I know who has hosted blow-log events has had to lay down some rules, no matter how far out in the boonies they live. If you're upset, please feel free to host a party next year in your yard and blow up whatever you like.

everyone should have some rules regarding explosives.
1. point away from face.
2. dont pour gas on fireworks.
3. If all else fails. Run!

Good point Fish, when making this poll, I was kinda just poking at Tom. I fully understand the risk involved with propane. Heck, my first time to experiment was at Fish's old farm in Winslow. I dang near got hurt badly thinking the canister wasn't going to blow. I was about 4' away when it blew and the percussion took my breath away literally. We are going to have fun no matter what, at least I am.

Ryan is an alright guy. Big man in more ways than the obvious!

I'm looking forward to attending the party in my Richard Simmons costume!

As lady of the aforementioned home.......I felt like I should offer some more insight. We're building on to the house(with the gracious help of Mr. Center)........so it's significantly closer to the fire pit now. That being said, I think everyone knows, I'm always up for shenanigans(sometimes I'm actually the one goading people into shenanigans). I do want families to feel like they can come too(I'll have little pumpkins for all the kids to decorate and we'll be showing movies)! Once the kids are asleep though, I'm fine with hairspray. The visit from the Sheriff last year was kind of an eye opener, so we'd like to avoid any run-in's with the law this year(I don't look good in stripes). I ultimately defer to my husband.......but if signs can be taken up......and the explosions not quite so Hiroshima-like.......I'm fine with them. :)

If you want some mini-booms, take a 20 oz. plastic drink bottle and swirl a little propellant (I use gas, I know, I know!), pout it all out and cap quickly. Just the fumes trapped in there make a nice little pop. Just a tip from a GDI!

Have fun, be safe and see some of you at the Barton's hopefully.

Good luck, Tom and Mrs. Burroughs! Somehow, regardless, I think you'll need some!!!
