Richland Creek Road Repair

Post by Cowper » Wed Aug 12, 2009 5:58 am

This is old (Feb 2009), but at least it was nice to see it in writing that the Forest Service intends to repair the road, and it does give a contact number to call.

Good photo. Any old-timers remember a slide in the same area in the '70s? Much smaller scale, as I remember, though, and didn't block the road.

I also remember slides from the flooding of '73 (or was it '74?) on Highway 43 on the long hill between Ponca and the Center Point trailhead. Also on Highway 74 between Steele Creek turn-off and Low Gap.
Let there be rain!
