So, Debbie, what kind of snake is it? He had his head buried but one pic looked like his head was up and mouth open but Gary says it is not his head.
Re: Snake Season: what would you do?
Not sure... could be a rattle-headed copper moccasin.

You sure this is on the right channel?

What ever happened to the DC shock treatment. There was a fella around here that was selling a stun gun with less amps that was susposed to neutralize the venom. Another way was use the spark plug wire and a running vehicle. Anybody heard of this method?

Speaking of snakes and fast moving female exits?
A whitewater trip found the Legendary Mr. Bobby Deitchler, his son Max, my soon to be bride, and myself camping overnight between runs.
Bobby & Max had a deadly Vulcanized Rattle Headed Copper Moccasin in their possession. Scientific name: Hideous Horrificus Unexpectedus Soilus Britchesus. This snake is so deadly it can kill you instantly just by looking at you! Death by laughter, mostly!
My bride found it later that evening in her sleeping bag!
Fortunately, the tent door was open at the time! My sweet little innocent boater bride fired off a blue streak that would have put a drunken sailor to shame!
We had no more snake issues that trip. After seeing that rubber snake hanging out of Bobby’s rear end for the rest of the trip, no self respecting snake in the county would have approached us!
I wonder if this may have something to do with irrational fears?

First things first - DeBo says Broad Banded water snake. Same kind I was playing with on Richland. Run if they can, bite you if you grab them.dwilson wrote:What ever happened to the DC shock treatment. Shock yourself with a spark plug? Nobody in their right mind would do that. I mean, yeah, I did, but it hurt like heck. Word was the technique was also supposed to alleviate symptoms of wasp stings, so when I was stung, I figured, what the heck, time for a little scientific experimenting. Grounded myself out to a running lawnmower, while DeBo watched and laughed. My perception was that the wasp sting quit hurting much quicker than usual, but, it was hard to say, mostly what I noticed was that the wasp sting hurt a lot less than a running lawnmower spark plug wire. I'm much older and wiser now. Well, much older, anyway...

A neighbor down the road had one of the store bought models that I got ta play with. It didn't hurt bout the only thing it would do was make some muscles jump around. After seeing what a snake bite can do hell give me two lawnmowers.
