NEW CREEK

Post by CAPTAIN ALEVE » Sun Mar 22, 2009 10:05 am

Applications are now being accepted to paddle this with me at the next opportunity. One square mile of drainage area means it will take a big rain and quick preparation to catch this one. Clinton area.

In that case I'll be sure to have the helmet cam running. Just kidding; I don't think it's going to be all that hard. I'll look for minimum flow for a first try.

Sure, I'd love to run it with you . . .

if you can show me how to keep my boat dry after I cut about 8 - 10 feet off of it! You gonna run that in a C-boat?

I'll be paddling a C-1. I'll bet you can do it in an open boat if it is short enough. I never thought I'd see a 14' Mohawk make it down Little Wild Goose Creek, but Robert Scharnhorst did it and only walked one rapid (maybe two). I'm not saying he was in control all the way; I'm not saying he was in control half the way, but he made it. I believe this run will be a lot easier than LWG.
