Props to Ouachita Outfitters

Post by lilredrasta » Fri Oct 24, 2008 11:49 am

I just wanted to publicly thank Don and Jeremy at Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters for helping me with a boat warranty issue. They didn't have a dog in the fight but went to great lengths to help me get a fair settlement from the manufacturer. When you consider buying a boat from the NOC or CKS please remember that by supporting local outfitters you support boating in Arkansas and also provide a resource for yourself in the event that you have a problem or need essential gear on Friday afternoon. Nobody does more to promote, enhance and support paddlesport in Arkansas than Don and his crew and they (for that matter, all Arkansas outfitters) deserve your patronage. Buy a boat from an out-of-state vendor and you may (or may not) save a few bucks but in the long run, you're just cheating yourself.

Ditto, right-on, etc. They replaced an air bag for me, even though I hadn't purchased it from them and had tried to repair it. Great stuff, great staff.

I just want to also thank Don and Jeremy at OOO for their professionalism,
PATIENCE, and courtesy. Not long ago my brother and I purchased our first boat from OOO and had a very pleasant experience there. You can certainly be sure that they will go out of their way to satisfy the customer. Kudos OOO.!!!!! Keep up the great work.

Gary and I have purchased a total of 5 boats from them. Great service.
We have two dagger approaches, two Bell Yellowstone solo canoes, and one Jackson 08 hero we have all bought from them. Love all our boats.
Have referred others there esp. that were looking at the appoaches.
Oh, and to mention also, other gear, spray skirts, paddles, air bags, clothing. Think we bought the store. :D

I wanted to throw in an atta-outfitter award to them while we are at it for showing up and weathering everything including the weather beyond the normal madhouses of TEFACS and Rendevous this year. Way to go!!!!! You really out did yourselves and all the competition. I really appreciated your hauling out a lot of your store to help us out. Just another of your satisfied customers and one of many both times. THANK YOU!

ps - your event staff was great

pps - Bring full Kokatat gore-tex dry suits next time. You might not sell them immediately, but I bet you will get them sold in the residual sales from folks who then know you have them and lust over them in the weeks following.

If this is the Frank from the Little Red River, I used to never buy any outdoor gear without consulting him at one of his stores in Little Rock. He was the king of good customer care for his customers  . Much missed in central Arkansas. I'm glad OOO has picked up the service & I have also bought boats & equipment in Hot Springs and very much recommend them to anyone.

By the way, did any one notice that my brother, seperated prior to conception, started this thread? Frank Barton at Take A Hike, got many folks started in paddling for many years, and has helped me with a boat warranty problem with Mad River many years ago, so he knows what he is talking about.. I really appreciate hearing from my Homies--I miss Take a Hike some days--when it was fun it was really, really fun but the retail environment and the outdoors industry has changed dramatically since then (another reason that all Arkie boaters need to support local outfitters--it may look like fun but it's hard as hell to make a living these days) and right now I am one happy camper living on the Little Red, selling some real estate and raising kids. My 9 year old is becoming a master boat handler in his little Riot Booster--you can expect to see us on some whitewater this spring.

The post-Surf-'n-Turf get-together/class-V party was a hoot!

Getting to spend time off the water with this group of great paddlers
seems to be as educational as being on the river with them(well almost).

Will be buying my next boat(and my first "brand new" boat from them soon).
Might be able to save a few bucks going online somewhere else;but the
service and quality of FRIENDLY help you get there can't compare.

Looking forward to many more purchases in the future.
Did I mention...I LIKE PURPLE SNOWCONES!!!
