Throw rope found on Richland

I'm tied up this weekend and on the 4th, but if some one will let me ride with them (as my gas budget will be shot by then), I do have:

2 chain saws, one 20" 5.4 cu.in Johnsered, one small Homelite, both just tuned and sharpened
various ropes and chains and cables
Axes, machetes, wedges, pry bars
Rather good sized ex-power company pulley block and an old sheeve
short peavy, 2 two ton come-a-longs
Z drag kit

enough stuff for 6-8 folks to carry in when you add gas and oil cans and you are serious about it.

Put enough ropes and pulleys on something and if you anchor it well enough, it WILL move. 15 of us once moved a rootball everyone said couldn't be moved by using 9 come-a-longs and 3 Z drags rigged 6:1 on Overflow Creek. We did cheat by drilling holes for EYE bolts welded shut after an earlier attempt pulled all the eyes open.

Don't forget about the one at the lip of twin devil falls. Tree is down blocking the whole drop.

Many good suggestions, and thanks for the offers of help, which as you'll see in a minute I need to take you up on.

While clearly the easiest thing to do would be to drive the D-7 up the creek bed and simply push the tree aside, I’m a little bit afraid that if I knocked over the Maytag rock on the trip upstream, my fellow boaters would never forgive me. I'm also thinking those Forest service guys that have been issuing tickets to 4-wheelers for crossing the berm wouldn't take kindly to the D-7, either. Yes, with some help, we should be able to carry in a chainsaw. This bad boy would clearly get the job done. Another obvious option would be a little old-fashioned farm-boy stump blowing.

But remember folks, this is a wilderness area, so I’m thinking if we can’t get a sky hook, then we’re just going to have to go after it with some of these.

I know it will take a bit longer, but if we're persistent and we each take a few minutes at it each time we pass by, we’ll eventually “get-er-done”!!! I already took off a few of the worst life jacket snagging limbs on a previous trip, so we're already more than 1% done!

But I bet this would make quicker time in getting that nasty-looking thing out of there

Well we had to meet a ranger down at Sams Saturday morning to talk about the crag clean up in 2 weeks and got to talking about Richland with him. He said the pile of rocks that was blocking the bridge is now gone and both sides of the bridge are repaired but the land slide wont be fixed for awhile. So at least we can get a little closer. He said that they are going to close it again for something but I do not remember what exactly it was for.

I would love to try and help out if at all possible but being without a job for 2 months has made my life a little harder.
