West Fork, Riverside to Babtist Ford, Trip Report

Post by kru1 » Fri Mar 21, 2014 10:22 am

Gonna do another exploratory trip this afternoon (Friday) around 2, this time on the West Fork. It is about a 6-8 mile section. Water is gonna be low, but floatable.

Post up if interested,
kru

Good to get section of a home town river in that I have never seen. It was pretty low, particularly on the upper end. However, I never got my feet wet. One mandatory portage about a mile in over Dye CreeK Low Water bridge, best to portage on river right.

Not much in the way of scenery or rapids (at this low level), or believe it or not, pools. Pretty continuous flow. We were able to surf 3/4 micro waves and got a lot of practice with ferries, eddies, and peel outs.

Any day on the river is a good day,
