I've Been Everywhere (in Arkansas)

Post by David Lewis » Sat Feb 01, 2014 8:57 am

Okay, this is barely on topic, but there is a little Buffalo River canoe footage involved. We water enthusiasts spend a lot of time on the back roads of Arkansas, and this newly-completed video is a tribute to the small towns where we go for dinner after a day on the river and the road tripping paddlers who go there. Enjoy.

WOW -- great work!

First frame, I started grinning big time and it just got better the further into the song.

Being a fan of small towns every where, I quickly started counting off the towns I had visited.

What a bucket list of neat spots to enjoy visiting!

This is one video I bookmarked and will enjoy many time more over the years.

Excellent work.

Arkansas Tourism has to have a copy of this and use it to show case the State of Arkansas!

Thanks, Dave! I'm glad you enjoyed. I did send a link to the Arkansas tourism general contact email address. Maybe they'll get some good out of it. I tried to license the song, but couldn't find the owner of the intellectual property, so commercial use would be iffy. But if they can figure out a way, great!

Prophet, you know what I'm talking about. I'm just simply saying that I enjoy my constitutional freedoms which I believe we are loosing. And I think we should all appreciate them while we can. Not gonna get into another useless debate over this.

David, that is a great production. I really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, even kayakers have the right to vote.

David,

I always (falsely) most attributed this song to Johnny Cash, however I do now remember also hearing Lynn Anderson singing it, as well as being old enough to remember the Hank Snow rendition as well. After some research, I can now see it's origin better, and can understand the difficulty maybe getting your version licensed. Regardless, you have done a superb job, and like Okie, I would love to see your effort benefit our wonderful State. If the State can use it, I'd like the production to be prefaced as you have already summarized with your mention of paddling, and all the great cities, towns, and communities in the areas where we do so. My 02cents worth :D

Best Regards
Jim

I'd like to know how many takes were required to get the song 100% correct or if there is some mixing/editing magic that makes it easier. Great job either way! :D

Jeez, Jim, Hank Snow and Lynn Anderson?, I bet you (like I did) listen to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio.

That was the good ole days when radio was the source of family entertainment!!! :myday"

David,
Great job! Jim offered to finish frying my sausage this morning just so I could watch and listen to your production. Great music, writing, photography, singing, and editing. I've always loved that song, and I like it even more now that it's been "Arkansawed." You definitely need to send a link to the Dept. of Ark. Parks and Tourism! Proud to say I knew you before you hit the Nashville circuit. :yahoo:
See you on the river (if you still have time for such once the offers start rolling in!),
Marlo
