Help with a sort of kayaking story

Post by dissingyourdog » Mon May 13, 2013 5:49 pm

Hey everyone. I'm working on a story for the Three Rivers Edition's Senior Expo section. I'm looking for a senior citizen (65+) with an interesting hobby and was wondering if anyone in the Searcy area is into whitewater kayaking, kayak fishing or any other interesting hobby. One of our writers would like to to talk to them for a story. Of course it doesn't have to be kayak and canoe related, I just thought this would be a good place to find some more input. Thanks.

If you know of anyone, post here or send me an email at cody_graves @ arkansasonline.com (no spaces)

I'll try to contact my ex mother in law,she enjoyed paddling the Buffalo and Spring Rivers until her hip got too bad to get in a boat in her early eighties. She had a hip replacement last year and now she's getting ready to go on another overseas trip with Heifer International so it might be hard to catch her.I'll try.
She lives in Edgemont on Greers Ferry Lake and goes to Heber Springs and the Rock fairly often.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I need to find someone a little closer to the Searcy area. Edgemont is out of the coverage zone a bit for this section. Appreciate the help, though.

Also, the bear had it coming.

Live 20 miles north of Searcy at Wilburn. Can't think of anyone in the area that meets your demographics. On the other hand, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I'm 61!!!!!
