This rapid should help Zach break in his new creek boat. It's in the Ouachita Mountains on Angling Creek which I have reason to believe has been run. Thanks for the correct name, Amy. Anybody claim a descent?

This photo of Chester's give a much more realistic view of the size of the drop:

That step in the fall looks troublesome. Zach will determine whether or not it is a problem.

Yes the creek has been run, takes a lot of rain to get it up! How was the wood situation?

Chester Robinson and I walked the top two miles today. There's maybe 3 trees of chainsaw size across the creek between the uppermost put-in and the big drop. One tree downstream of that.
Did you paddle over Bathtub Falls with the catch part way down? Looks like you could bow pin there.

Are there photos of Angling Creek being run on the web? Has the creek been run all the way down to Brushy Creek?
I'll arbitrarily call this rapid "Zach's Zig" - whoops - Nasty Ninety Falls (thank you Amy for the update)

No pics! Has been run down to the low water crossing as the creek leaves the FS land!

Thanks for the info. I see a need for a database of these smaller creeks that are getting run when conditions are right. No telling how many places to paddle are staying unknown to the majority of paddlers.

Actually, my husband Joe, and Duffy got a first D on that years ago :-) They named the first one Bathtub Falls, at the right level the second stairstep isn't a problem b/c u boof then reconnect on the downhill side of that ledge. The second good drop is called Nasty Ninety Falls and was their favorite drop on the run. The 3rd and last descent drop was called the RD Shuffle, and is the name of a deer hunter who turned them on to the run. I believe Duffy may have actually 1st D the big slide- fall coming in as well. Please keep the names of the drops as they are, as to show some respect to the folks who actually hashed that one out. thanx a bunch! Happy paddling.. Sup Tim!

AMY!, I thought that was the one that Joe snagged, I remember Joe showing me the scouting pics. Hope all is well wherever you all are now. Check out my blog at buildingosage.blogspot.com to see what we did in the gorge and tell Joe hello, Roger

I ran the upper run from the top down to Dark Corners deer lease with Duffy, Jim Simmons (the younger Jim Simmons). It takes a least 2to 3" to get it going. probably needs a good cleaning, but definitely a blast at the right levels. Love to Amy and Joe C. BGW

Bathtub Falls, Nasty Ninety Falls, and RD Shuffle it is. Great action photo!
BGW: Is the Dark Corner deer lease down by the "East Main Haul Road", about 2.5 miles below the take-out for the top section? When we drove by there we saw one large concrete pipe and two extra large corrugated metal pipes under the road.
