Transient Global Amnesia?

Post by Clif » Sun Dec 16, 2012 6:03 am

Seems like nuts like us would have seen this before? Any experience here? Never heard of and just thought it should be. I know like symptoms are watched for indicating hypothermia. This story would be a scary situation.

You sure this is on the right channel?

Interesting. First I'd heard of such thing. Though, I have heard of kayakers becoming disoriented after rolling up from a baptism in icy waters. Apparently, an inner ear thing.
Thanks for sharing.

I thought it was an interesting article too but the symptoms seem pretty baffeling to me. I would have to defer to the medical professionals in the club for any ideas they might have. From my limited experiences with paddlers with various degrees of hypothermia, they are often slow to react or confused initially, or very slow and even more incoherent with symptoms of more severe hypothermia. But, I've not run across memory loss such as the article mentioned once they are physically doing better. It's a mystery to me, but am curious about what was wrong with this young man.

Best Regards
Jim
