Fall Wetland Touring Schedule 2012

Post by DeBo » Sun Sep 30, 2012 8:31 pm

Hello swampers!! :canoe: It has been a couple of seasons since we have had a schedule of wetland touring trips. I am looking forward to reconnecting with old paddling companions and meeting new ones. These trips are open to all comers and all skill levels who wish to get outdoors in some beautiful places, see wildlife and ancient trees.

The following list of trips is subject to change due to weather or water levels. I'm also be making some adjustments to avoid conflicts with other club events and to fine tune it due to some hunting events such as special permit hunts. A week before each trip occurs I will post a brief description of the trip with meeting times, locations and any other directions. Post general comments or questions on this thread. Post specific questions or comments about the next upcoming trip on that trip thread as it is posted.

How does the rescheduled poke Bayou trip affect the Maddox trip?

I am definitely interested in these floats if I'm off work on these days! Thanks for posting and leading them!

We were bowhunting near Grassy lake yesterday and used our kayaks to get to our spot.
We put in at the bridge on Palarm creek and headed toward the dam. We had to take out
and drag our kayaks 3 times and only made it a half mile before we gave up and hunted.
There are several trees blocking the creek and our paddles hit bottom everytime we paddled.
It is really low. The woods around Grassy lake are not flooded either. The boat lanes in Bell
slough are dry to.
