I know that Jason K (volunteer logistical coordinator for event) would love to have ACC folk out with boats to float or float/drag parts of the river that are inaccessable by any other means than a water craft.

Plus trash coming in on boats just looks neat!

Yes folks - by all means please come on out on May 19th and give the local community a good showing and some support in cleaning up a priority sub-watershed of Beaver Lake and one that also gives paddlers some close-to-home paddling action.

Food, fellowship, and fun for a good cause is guaranteed.

Water is lookin a little scarce....

Boats might just be limited to a hole or two which is still very helpful for getting trash offf of the river.

Of course low water brings the chance for scouting if you've never seen the river or a particular section before.

Having Trey on board this year is a BIG help.

It sure is nice to have a skilled videographer to help create promotional materials.

Not to mention he is a former boat baller down at the Riverside Park.

I have still not heard a final count, but we were right around 71 participants at the West Fork Cleanup this year.

Here is a shot of the trash trailer I did not get one of the recycle trailer


The equivalent of A volkswagon beetle and half (3,000 lbs) of trash was removed from the stream and it's floodplain.

I especially enjoyed seeing this tractor trailer tire being removed from out of our scenic boatball venue Riverside Park.


Patrick, One of our very own might have been the hardest working volutneer of the day.....He worked so hard that he almost missed lunch! (note I am just watching Patrick work here and was not late for lunch! )

Thanks Cowper, but I'll have to share cred with our fellow organizers Beaver Water District, West Fork Watershed Alliance, Northwest Arkansas Land Trust, and the Watershed Conservation Resource Center.

Our good boatin' brothers Jason Kindall, Executive Director of the Beaver Watershed Alliance, AND Trey Marly, film maker of award winners, had a big hand in making it happen also.

It's good to have teamates that can help make things happen AND it's good to have others just like us, who like to take care of our streams, around the state and beyond.

Without folks like us we'd be paddling through plastic instead of in it :myday"
