fishers ford?

Post by jdblagg » Thu Aug 25, 2011 6:25 pm

hello all, I have only been to fishers ford when the level was about 3.6. I know on the Ozark Creek Summary it states that the level needs to be at least 3. I have a buddy coming that is brand new to paddling and we would be working on his roll and hopefully playing in the wave a little. My question is at 2.73, is it too low to get in and play at all? Figured I could get an answer on here! Thanks!

It was still a fun little wave at that level. Great spot for roll class too.

Man, I just don't think Fisher's is gonna be worth the long drive.

I'd take your friend up to OMTC and let him/her check out the boats (hell, they'd probably let him/her demo one) and then catch a dam release on the White.

Shuttle is easy and you can bike shuttle.

I'm thinking about it just to get out this weekend.

Hey NoQuarter,

What section are you talking about when you say it is an easy bike shuttle? And from the chart that is on the link in your post it looks like they are going to be releasing at about 1pm, is that correct?

thanks

79,
From the link I chose Friday release schedule on the left. It shows that at 1600hrs the dam will release for three hours for generating at 112 MW out of 128 MW or about 7700 cfs. a 1630 putin would be great. There is a two 1/2 mile float that's easy.

GPS
Put in 36.424183,-93.842211
Take out (one of several) 36.440549,-93.834143

Seriously about 2.5 miles on the river and only a short shuttle.

Zach is right--great fishing--and I imagine there will be a lot of people out doin' just that.
