CENTRAL CHAPTER TREASURER: A LITTLE HELP PLEASE
What is the present balance in the Central Chapter's bank account and what expenses are scheuled that might affect whether or not the Central Chapter funds a threatened river gage on an annual basis? Is anything planned other than supporting the Arkansas River race and Surf'n'Turf?

Re: CENTRAL CHAPTER TREASURER: A LITTLE HELP PLEASE
Mike, the account balance is in a PM that I sent to you. It is the same figure that was presented in the Treasurer's Report at last Tuesday's meeting.
Chapter members can vote to fund a gauge. I don't think there are any big expenses expected in the near future that would prevent our doing that.
We had some discussion at the last chapter meeting about contributing toward one or more gauges. There were questions about the exact situation with the gauges, and more information is to be presented at the next meeting.

As a Central Chapter member, I would like to recommend and request that Club officers and members alike refrain from posting detailed financial data on this public forum, which is viewed by many non-club members, including some who have told me directly that they hate the club and everything about it, and will do harm to the club at every opportunity.
This is why we created a "members only" area of the board.

Re: CENTRAL CHAPTER TREASURER: A LITTLE HELP PLEASE
Technically, not posting the Central Chapter bank balance is acceptable, but only because the state level ACC organization does not claim any chapters to be part of the non-profit ACC. Each chapter is its own entity, that being whatever they organized to be when the chapter was formed. Maybe the Board has changed the chapter status on its Federal (required to be public) tax forms since I brought it to their attention a few years ago, if so, then chapters are part of a federal tax-exempt 501(c)(7) organization and chapter bank balances are public information. As such I would expect there to be no worries about showing the balance to the world, and that the Chapter would follow common public practice of non-profits by leaving its books open to the public. Indeed, the state level ACC tax returns are on the web, as I have pointed out before.
Not that I pay any attention to that kind of stuff. Hey! Squirrel !!!

This forum is not the place to have these discussions, Mike. Feel free to email or PM me or call me (501 912 8884) if you have issues with the Central Chapter.
