I just sent this e-mail out to the Entergy List Server:
Today, July 21 Blakely, Carpenter and Remmel dams will be releasing about 3,600 CFS from 10 AM to 8 PM.
On Friday the release from all three dams will be about 2,400 CFS from about Noon to 9 PM.
On Saturday and Sunday the release from all three dams will be 3,600 CFS from about Noon to 6 PM.
Next week from Monday through Friday the release from all three dams will be about 2,400 CFS from about Noon to 9 PM.
On Saturday, July 30 the Corps will be releasing about 3,000 CFS from Blakely Mountain Dam from about 9 AM to 10 PM. Carpenter and Remmel Dams will be releasing about 3,600 CFS from about 10 AM to 6 PM.
On Sunday, July 31 Sunday the release from all three dams will be 3,600 CFS from about Noon to 6 PM. This will be the typical weekend release pattern.
On Monday, August 1 Friday the release from all three dams will be about 2,400 CFS from about Noon to 9 PM. This will be the typical weekday release pattern.
Good news is that I am so far able to keep 6 hours of full flow release on the weekends and start at 10 AM for Surf-N-Turf.
Bad news is that without a big rain and some significant refilling of Lake Ouachita or a break in this heat wave, the weekday releases are only going to be 2,400 CFS. This is not a good flow for surfing at the ledge.
Maybe if we get some colder weather the energy demand pattern will change and we can go back to something with the normal full release for fewer hours. We'll just have to see.
Feel free to e-mail me with any thoughts and comments as I don't monitor this board all that often.
