Point 47 !

Post by johnnybiggun » Fri Jul 01, 2011 7:28 am

.47 is how much rain fell in Mena during June....Normally receive almost 4.5 inches..... I can't believe anyone could have it worse than that...

OOPS !

Apparently a poor choice of words.... I should have said , I can't believe floating conditions could be worse for anyone due to a lack of rainfall....

Did the tornado thing 2 years ago.... Wasn't thinking that deep.... But, thanks for killing whatever hope I had for a Friday high..... Since 6 Rivers have their headwaters near here I thought it would be of interest to readers on this forum.... Now I will go over to the Joplin relief forum and post my best wishes....

We received a little over an inch here on Tues. Man it was nice considering over a month of none...
I noticed a lone storm over in Polk Co. on the radar yesterday, did you get any of that?

Best Regards
Jim

Not a drop Jim.... They had a good shower around Shady but not enough for any change in the Tot level.... It's bad dry here and all levels are super low...

Tulsa area dry as a bone and it is much worse the further west you go. West Texas and OK panhandle is like the old dustbowl days and the farms and ranches are unable to make crops or find grazing for cattle.

Just planted some plants in our yard and the soil was dry as a could be even a foot or better down.

Hope we get some soaking rains not a flood soon.

Tuesday our rain gauge showed 4", I know it really poured here but I can't believe that much. I have a sister in Texas that says it hasn't rained there in 2 years. The trees have all died.
