Seriously, I think the Wakarusa is a river near Lawrence, KS where the festival originated. Joke up there was it meant "walking in mud" in some native American tongue.

Fun party! Only downside is it has grown in popularity so much that I expect they'll have close to 20,000 people there. It's huge!
