2nd Annual Memorial Weekend BOAT RACE (Big Piney May 28-30)

Post by KBL44 » Wed May 26, 2010 6:46 pm

Hey boaters! Moore Outdoors is holding its SECOND annual Memorial Day boat race on Sunday, May 30, 2010. Festivities will begin Friday, May 28th. You can register by emailing me at marikamoore@hotmail.com and then I can email you a form or you can register at the store starting May 15th until 12:00 p.m. May 30th (day of the race). The fee is $15.00 per person, which includes a cool t-shirt. BYOB (bring your own boat) or rent one from Moore Outdoors. Racers with private boats are to provide their own shuttle or shuttles will be available at Moore Outdoors. Boat rentals are by prepaid reservation; contact Moore Outdoors for further information and availability. We will be renting boats to non-racers also so prepaid reservations are recommended. We now accept credit and debit cards so registration fees and reservations can also be made by phone. Per our policy reservations are non-refundable.
The race will be held Sunday, May 30th at 2:00 p.m., beginning at Long Pool and finishing at the Twin Bridges, a 5-mile run. The race will be done in heats and winners will be determined by the best time of teach team or racer. Categories are:

I signed up for the race. I'd sure like to bum a ride back up to retrieve my truck after the race. Also I signed up as a solo canoe but if somebody wants to be in the front of my canoe they just need to pay the $15 and I can change to double canoe.

We were definitely in the slacker division, when we got there the race had already started. it was raining lightly, but we still had a great time. will definitely come back next year.
