Re: BUFFALO OVERNIGHTER - Friday-Saturday

The area just had yet another Flash Flood Warning put onto it,with another heavy rainmaker Tuesday. Supposed to clear up Wednesday. With any luck the river will be good and clear for your float!

Re: White River, dam to Wildcat Shoals report

Excellent! As of Friday they have started minimum flow at Bull Shoals Dam. I'm looking forward to seeing how much it raises the water levels.

Re: White River, dam to Wildcat Shoals report

Went out Friday afternoon and floated the dam to White Hole on 3 units. Saw someone with a nice Raft at WH. It took us a little under 2 hours to float it. How was Wildcat on 2 units?

Re: Baker Ford to Gilbert Saturday

With any luck! I ran quite a bit of Hwy 65 on Saturday around Harrison and it was killing me seeing all the canoes and kayaks on the road.

Re: Controlled burning on the Lower Buffalo

Mitch is correct on his points. The last prescribed burns in the area were around 10 years ago. Since then we have had severe storms, tornadoes, and one real nasty ice storm that has made the fuel load massive and in need of burning.

If you have and respiratory ailments you may want to call and see if any active burning is going on. I just came back f...

Controlled burning on the Lower Buffalo

Starting in about an hour the NPS and AFC will begin burning between 11,000 and 14,000 acres from just downstream of Rush to the confluence of the White. If you're planning a trip in the next few days you may call ahead to make sure the river isn't closed.

Any North Central AR paddlers?

New here and to the sport and wondering if there were any paddlers that frequent the North Central part of the state? I'm in Marion county about 20 minutes from the Buffalo and can be knee deep in Crooked Creek( if it has water) in 5 minutes! Looking to hook up and do some floating when the temps ri...
