Re: Recommendations for good river shoes
I am on my 2nd pair of 5/10 Canyoneer II's (bout $149) -- Great for creekin, very large shoe, with best grip in the business. 5/10 also makes a new smaller profile Water Tennie (bout $99). Eli Helbert sported them at the Worlds in Germany. Once you go 5/10 Aquastealth , you can never go back ! Order...

Re: Dagger RPM Max
In retrospect, the RPM MAX was also one of my all time favorite boats. Traded mine in along with a Prijon Tornado for an H3-255 (hated it !) Possibly my worst boat deal ever ... wish I had the MAX back. I did buy the Tornado back, only to have somebody destroy it in the Green Race. Boats come and go...

What up Bad Andy ! Don't you know the Saint is up and Jammin !! Get on over this weekend ! Although Jason Bales and I are headed for the French Broad River Fest, in Hot Springs , NC, with the majority of the Asheville boating scene. It is one Dadburn Hippies delight !! Bluegrass, Reverend Horton Hea...

Re: Cold Hands
I have used Snap Dragon, Hyper Hands Pogies for years. They are made from Hypalon (like Rafts) and are very warm, don't absorb water, and very easy to get in and out of while paddling. Butt, when it really gets cold, I just got some NRS "Toaster Mitts" they are comfy, great grip on the pad...

Re: Nomad vs. Jefe
For the Record, No other Creeker Resurfaces like the MEGA Rocker ! First of all, you can barely get the nose under water, and if you do, it comes back up like a Polaris missle !! ( This In response to the Nomad being about the best Resurfacing Creeker) Butt, I have not paddled a Nomad -- so I better...

Re: Deciding whether to run a rapid or not
I must beg to differ on the "RPM having No edges" The whole stern is an "edge" , drop yer tail and get out of about anything ! Now a Rocker, really has no edges ! I love em both, though my MEGA Rocker often feels like a giant Beach ball when gaught sideways in a hole ! They may b...

Re: Richland?
Thanx, Roger... I will be down this year. CK has vowed to spend more time paddlin in Arkansas, so we'll figure something out. Talked to Eli H. last week, he bagged the Green Race cause it was too low. I had Bilbos Tornado at my house and a hot MO. paddler (now living in Asheville) borrowed it to rac...

Re: Richland?
Readin this reminds me of the fact that although I've been paddlin an partyin with Arkie Boaterz for many years, and have paddled a few spots in Arkansas, I've never gotten on Richland Creek. It usually runs bout the same time as the Saint Francis. I'm gonna keep my eye (the good un) on the guage, a...

I prefer to use a Werner. Children squirm around too much and there is way to much flex in them. But, to each their own... Freddie

Re: Food for thought
I just noticed that Gas went up .40 cents per gallon, overnight here in Southern Illinois !! The worst part was, as Fish noted, was that the lines of people waiting to pay it, were huge ! Makes me feel a bit smug, knowing I just got rid of my BIG a** Tundra (14mpg) for a new, lil tiny Tacoma that is ...
