Keep heading in that westerly direction away from Louisiana. The further west you go the better the chances of me being able to go east this weekend are.
A landfall just west of Houston would be perfect, I should be able to go east and return to lots of water running in state.
We can dream right....

I got people there. So no stronger than a 2. Not to imply that it can be stronger if it hits people I don't know.
We only started seriously watching when they approached a 3 back in the days of Lake Charles.

Farmers in SE AR really dodged a bullet with Faye. Hopefully Gustav will be similarly kind.

Yeah...I'm hoping I'm not rushing back to get my kids out. The good thing is my work badge gets me through National Guard barricades. The bad thing is I left it at home today and have to go by my house before I can leave town.
It looks like there's a good chance of us evacuating. I think I'm going to evacuate to the Cadron!

This is an interactive link for the storm track of Gustov. Click on full screen then you can zoom into it a little closer. Right now it looks like it is heading right for us...
Also, click on Forcast Models. One of them has it stopping right on top of Sugar Creek

Scott, you're the expert. I just read that Hanna's most likely path is across Florida and into the Gulf, closely on the heels of the Big G. What do you think? Atlantic landfall? Harmlessly headed for the north Atlantic? Gulf-ward bound?

Hey, inhale hard enough and maybe it'll jump Louisiana and land right in the Ozarks!

Well my dream never came true. My plans to go east and meet up with Andy, Diane and the rest of them were foiled by Gustov. After two very long days of travel I have made it to Baton Rouge and we are sitting tight waiting for it to blow through so we can get to work. Work for me meaning sitting behind a desk while others go out and get their hands dirty.
This will be the first hurricane that I have been through...hopefully I can get some good pictures of the wind and so forth so ya'll can see some of the fun down here.
