Kim, as soon as you decide not to cook yourself (somehow that doesn't sound right) I would be more than happy to take you on as a partner in the grandprize creation. I might even share the recipe before the big day. Just don't let Roger see it. Not till after we win.

Okay, okay, I have to be fair to my dear husband, who really puts up with a lot from me (and everyone who knows me knows I speak the truth!). After saying he wouldn't get my cheese or Richard's beer, he told me he would pick up my cheese, and, yes, he said that before I posted, but it didn't make nearly as good a story, did it?

Richard, I think you and I may be in different categories anyway, so we could still cooperate. I'm guessing your beer is not for breakfast!

I just got back from a week of low water runs of the ARK -- Browns Canyon etc, so I am just getting caught up on current events back here.

What I did find out is cakes bake differently at hi altitudes than they do here in Oklahoma or Arkansas. Lasanga's tho work just as well up high as down much lower.

Gotta teach a rendezvous clinic sat afternoon so I will not be able to join in the fun on the DO event, but just saying -- if I was baking in the dessert catagory - who ever's Mom was doing the judging would vote my dessert cake as number one

Good luck to all you DO cookers!!

Having sampled some of Okieboaters dessert's, I would place my bet . . . er . . . I don't bet . . . but if I did, I would place mine on his.
But, when it comes to dinner fare . . . just you wait

Dave, what time's your class? I will be organizing & cooking (not for prizes) both, so If you would care to throw your stuff in a DO, I'd turn & watch it while you're doing ACC Service... I'm sure we can get your DO submission done & judged, if you want to do it. (Remember, there aren't many Rules here...) Just let me know... Crane

Larry, thanks for the offer.

If I can get the clinic done a bit early, I will be there. Might be a little late, but cakes bake really fast down around 1000 ft elevation.

If contestants get to sample the other DO cook's submissions - I'm gonna be there!!!!

Are there any restrictions as to source of heat? Mine is a dutch oven menu but can be done on a stove. Is that allowed?

Traditionally, charcoal is the heat source...
