A few of us are planning a Little Mo trip Friday Aug 8. The dam release (3 generators) will start at 2pm...meaning us folks from Little Rock will likley leave here around 11:30am or so so that we can meet, set shuttle, and be ready to move down the river as the dams open up.

This is a fun class II run with quite a few surfing opportunities. Cool dam release H2O + August in Arkansas = pretty good way to spend a Friday afternoon....

Just thought I'd post this now so everyone can start planning how to wiggle out of work next Friday early!

Please post if you plan to come so we can organize carpools and shuttles! Little Rock contingent will most likely meet at the KMart parking lot near Rodney Parham and 430 at 11:30am.

Lupe,I would be definitely in for that float,but I just remembered that my daughter is graduating from UCA that night. I dont think that will give me time to float. Maybe yall will do it again soon. I am glad the daughter is graduating though :) Minna

Mike and I will be there, and we're bringing his son, Brian, who was at Surf & Turf. We'll be at the K-Mart parking lot.

I may need to share a ride as Gary probably won't be coming, he probably will have to work. Rather than me driving and meeting in Little Rock, could someone meet me in Benton on the way to share the ride?

Ya'll watch out for all of the tubers.

We ran it yesterday (Thurs. July 31) and I couldn't believe how many tubers there were. Never a one last year. Worst yet, not a one of them had a paddle. 8-9 yr. old kids, teenagers and adults alike. Seemed as though they were all downstream cabin owners putting in at the dam and floating to their cabin. I just worry for their saftey and that a couple of reported mishaps by these "happy go luckies" might shutdown this summer time jewel for all.

I'm going to try and join you for this one.

Heather, how can you tell how many generators will release? I looked it up, had # 24 on that day for each hour.

Minna - sorry our dates didn't work out; I couldn't get off this week...

Karla - 1 generator=8, so 2=16, 3=24. We'll have a 3 generator release.

Is there any surfing at 3 generators? Or is it all washed out?

I was thinking we usually had the good water at 2 generators.

Yeah - there's still surfing. Some things are washed out, but there's still some nice spots, as best as I can remember.
