Werner Sherpa and Powerhouse

I'm currently using an AT4 River E. My plan was to swap to at AT2, but I'm a little concerned about putting a hole in the blades. So I'm thinking of going with a Werner with fiberglass blades instead. I'm mainly looking for something for river running and a little surfing. Anyone using a Sherpa or Powerhouse?

Roman- I switched to the Powerhouse bentshaft carbon a few months ago and i think its great. If your worried about blade wear, or holes, I would go with the carbon. My 2 cents.

Oh yeah...I forgot they had a carbon blade without the foam core. I think I ended up going with fiberglass on my touring paddle for visibility. I'll probably go with the powerhouse too. Thanks!

I emailed AT today and they said if you puncture the blade, it's strictly a cosmetic issue. I guess I'll go with my original plan to get an AT2.

If you haven't tried out a bigger blade face like the Powerhouse, borrow someones to try. The big spoon faces do make a big difference to me. I have a Lendel Powermaster in 215cm carbon bent shaft and blades if you ever want to try it out. It's a touring/racing stick, but it sure is nice to roll with.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't consider puncturing the surface of any type of core blade to be strictly cosmetic. Water will saturate the core over time, every time you use it. Resealing or patching is recommended to insure structural integrity of a damaged blade.

My current paddles are actually about the same or larger than the Powerhouse (220cm Werner Corryvrecken - 710 sq cm and 197cm AT4 River E - 800 sq cm). I may change my order to an AT2 Flexi, since I have tendinitis. I'm still debating between 196cm or 199cm though.
I hadn't thought about patching the holes...thanks for the suggestion Bob!
UPDATE: I ordered an AT2 SL (Super Light) 196cm 30 degrees!
