Floating the Mt. Fork tomorrow (Sunday the 20th) and if anyone is interested then reply. Floating from the re-reg dam to Highway 70. My partner is going to solo on downstream for a couple of days. He has more free time than I do.

We just got back from running it again today (Sat.). It was flowing at around 650 c.f.s. when we put-in @ 8:A.M. Current most up to date reading @ 5:P.M. is 326 c.f.s. and with no scheduled generation today or tomorrow it will continue to fall. For a decent trip there I prefer 450 c.f.s. and up. Anything less starts getting bony. Don't get me wrong though, you can make down the river when lower, just alot of scrapping and the playspots are gone.

Have fun and enjoy the rental carnage. It was abundant today!!!

Jim, appreciate your reply. The amount of water doesn't concern me. Going postal (I work for the Post Office) does. I need a break. Calgon, save me. If there isn't any water I will sit on the bank and drink Pearl. A summer without my Canadian trip is a bummer.

Jim, I just realized that you are in Texarkana. So am I. Maybe we can float together some time.

So how was your float?

River was low yet I managed to tip over in the falls. Too many people up there. This might be a good float with more water and fewer people; maybe a Wednesday float.

I think I will just stick with Canadian wilderness trips. The lakes are always floatable.

Hey DeKalb, can't speak for Jim but I wasn't up there Memorial Day. I am not much on crowds and I just feel there was a crowd there that time frame. I like to have the river to myself or with just a few. I float for reasons other than whitewater thrills and thus you have a good chance of seeing me on the Red and you know there is no whitewater down there. But there aren't any crowds either. Certainly aren't any crowds up in Manitoba where I will be next July. Question: does the owner of the Front Street Cafe canoe? I know there are outdoor pictures all over the place and there is a canoe inside on the wall.

You are right. Excellent eating. I was looking at an old home in English and I would stop there every trip over. I think I was making trips so I could go by and grab a bite to eat. The Smokestack down near Santo near the Brazos River is another of these places.
