A few years ago I attended the whitewater school and was impressed with the inventive racks people had created for transporting their boats. I'm hoping some of you will help me out w/ a workable but inexpensive rack.

I just bought a 2001 Toyota Tacoma (regular cab) which has a fiberglass topper that is even with the cab roof. I am in the market for a canoe and/or rec kayak (maybe both) and I need a rack to accomodate both. I would prefer something that can be disassembled and stored when not in use.

Any suggestions?

I always used Yakima Side Loaders on my pickups with camper shells. http://www.yakima.com/racks/rack-system ... oader.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You can then use the 1A Raingutter Towers which install and uninstall in less than a minute. If you are going to be carrying canoes, you'll want to use 1A HiRise Spacers to keep the bow of the canoe from touching the top of the cab.

You want to ensure you have the bolt holes for the side loaders correctly marked before you use the drill on the fiberglass.
