New Wavesport Fuse?
Just wondering if anyone has the new Wavesport Fuse or paddled one. Wanting some feedback on it performance as a playboat. I noticed the weight range for the middle size, the 56 was a little different then ther boats in the past. Anything would be helpful. Thanks

Re: New Wavesport Fuse?
I have a Fuse 64; that I purchased from OOO about 2 months ago. This is my first play boat so I don’t have anything to compare it to but I can tell you that the boat fits me well being 6’3” 270 lbs.
The only real issue I have with the boat is the workmanship from the manufacturer; this must have been a Friday afternoon boat. The adjustment slot on the thigh braces look like a blind man with
a butter knife cut them. Also, I got a wicked scrape on my right calf from a sharp edge that was not trimmed correctly on the bottom front part of the cockpit; I ended up trimming and sanding this
sharp edge off myself.
The boat surfs well and turns on a dime also it is very stable when sitting in calm water.

Cool thanks. Sounds like the craftsmanship isnt so hot. Im think the 64 is too big for me, im 5'9 210lbs, looking at the 56. thank you for the info, will try to demo for sure before i buy. Now I just need to find someone with the 56, no one carries it local. Anyone have a 56?

A paddle buddy of mine was wanting to try a 56 also but like you has had no luck finding one. I know OOO had one and sold it about 2 weeks prior to my purchase of my 64, so they are out there. Even thought the workmanship was somewhat questionable I’m still very happy with mine.

Aaron, I have paddled Richard Lancasters Fuse...and now I lovingly call it the "wavesport brick" as I found it unresponsive while on the wave..tippy and hard to roll. Just my findings on it. Of course Richard seems to enjoy it, and I've seen a couple of em at rockport...but if you're wanting a good playboat..for you size I would suggest trying out the wavesport project series.
You'd probably be looking at the project 62. The outfitting is very comfy, as in most wavesports I've paddled..and the boat is super responsive on big fast waves. At rockport you're gonna have to use alot more body muscle to throw it around..but the bigger the feature..the looser the thing gets. It's not super fast..but the ends feel very balanced, and ariel moves are very do-able in it.
Try one out, I think you'd really like em. The fuse might be a great boat for some, but I just couldn't show it any love.

Re: New Wavesport Fuse?
One thing to remember about this boat is that it is not a, quote, full on play boat. It is balanced for cartwheels and the ends are nice and slicey. Nod to the older school boats of yesteryear. The fuse is also longer, meaning more speed down river. Wavesport is calling this boat a river running/playboat, but I would, myself, flip those and call it a playboat/river runner as it seems more aggressive than say a Jackson Fun series boat or even cross river. As an aside, there are more coming in the very near future...a 56 and 64, so if you want to take a look at them, they'll be here in a couple of weeks.

Re: New Wavesport Fuse?
Thanks for all the great info guys, i will for sure try both the project 62 and the fuse. Let me know Jeremy when you guys get them in. So would the Wavesport ZG (not ezg) be more of a inbetween boat from those 2 boats?
Re: New Wavesport Fuse?
Both the ZG and the Project are Wavesport's full on play boats. I believe that the ZG came out first, then the project. The EZG and the Fuse are their river running/playboats (or vice versa play/river) and again the EZG came out first. It depends on what you're looking for. If you are wanting something that will surf and spin, but also has enough speed for running rivers, then the EZG or the Fuse would be the ticket. If you're really wanting to get "vertical" or begin to explore more "tricky" play moves, then the ZG or the Project are the boats for you...In the wavesport line-up that is.
BTW aaron....those boats should be here in a week and a half.
