Swimming holes near Fayetteville

With pools closed, I'd like to take my grandkids swimming but haven't paid much attention to finding good swimming holes near Fayetteville--clean, clear water, non-muddy access points. Lake Wedington is OK, but I'd prefer moving water with a bit of shade. Can anyone share a favorite swimming hole within a short drive from Fayetteville?
