If the release schedule for Remmel-Rockport doesn't work for us tomorrow, we'd like to check out the Caddo below DeGray. What do we need to know? Would we need a shuttle or is it mild enough to paddle upstream to return to the put-in?

Lee,

Just get off at the Caddo Valley Exit and go to' River Rats Outfitters', I recommend parking there, and for a nominal fee, they will take you up to the Lower Dam Use Area Ramp to put-in. Go slowly and enjoy, but I don't care to paddle/drag back upstream.

You'll have lots of tubers/rafters to dodge and observe. Can be a zoo at put in. Water will start coming up early afternoon as generation starts. Short stretch--just two miles. Add more miles by going all way to Arkadelphia.

Gracias mis amigos kayakeros. We'll check it out.

Jim, did you make it to Rockport today? The potluck was nothin' but a bunch of kale salads and cold pasta salads. We carnivores :jaws: got to get some yard bird :chicken: or lil' fishies :fish: or something more substantial! Aaaargh!

Lee,

I'm with you man, I always like a good salad too, but with some savory meaty entrees also  We several of us had a very nice afternoon float on the Ouachita, did you and Thia also float after lunch?

Best Regards
Jim

Salad ain't food. Salad is what food eats.
