The new Arkansas Missouri Tennessee Chapter is official and online. You can change your membership to the new chapter called

ArkMoTenn

If you haven't done so, please make sure to make the change in the next few days.

I just checked the number of official members who are selected at the new ArkMoTenn chapter. The number is fifteen.

this sounds as if this chapter--the arkansas canoe club is now defunct--true--or am i misunderstanding??

I think you have misunderstood. Until recently the Arkansas Canoe Club has had 7 local chapters (ArkLaTex, Central, Dust Bowl, Piney Creeks, NorthWest, North Texas, and River Valley). For a short time we had an eight chapter further west in Oklahoma - the Red Dirt Chapter - but they folded as a chapter a few years ago. The original post here is announcing a new eight chapter that has just formed called ArkMoTenn which will give paddlers in the Northeast area of the state as well as those nearby in Missouri and Tennessee a local chapter to call their own.
